I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the parish for their very warm welcome into their community of Our Lady of Lourdes and St Gerard’s. It was a strange time to move midway through Advent, especially so close to Christmas. To parachute in without any personal involvement in prior planning actually gave me a wonderful opportunity to see the community working together in preparation for Christmas. As I said at the Christmas masses, one day a tree would be up, the next, the  crib, and so many other things done by so many people who I hope to get to know over the coming months. This all showed the wonderful community involvement built up by Fr Xavier.
