FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

This is known as Good Shepherd Sunday and is the Day of prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood and the religious life. The image of Jesus as the Good Shepherd is one of the most powerful images of the gospels. Today we hear an iconic line from the gospel of St John: “I have come that they may have life and have it to the full”. The reference is one of the easiest to remember: John: 10:10. In other words, to get full marks (ten out of ten) listen to this line and believe it. Live in the way mapped out for us by Jesus and we have life to the full—we get full marks! He is Risen, Alleluia!
