Parish Organisations

There are many Parish Groups, some are more active than others.
Mission TeamOur Mission Team meet about 4 times a year to discuss with and advise the Parish Priest on various matters concerning the parish.  If you are interested in joining the group please contact Father Joe direct.
Altar ServersWe are always looking to increase the number of Altar Servers.  This is open to anyone once they have received their first Holy Communion and we recommend starting after finishing the Sacramental programme.
Catechists & Sacramental ProgrammeThe Sacramental Programme is organised by Cathechists within the parish.   Sessions are held in the evenings and more information can be found on the Sacramental Programme pages by clicking here.
Children’s Liturgy Group

The Children’s Liturgy Group takes place during the 10 am Mass on Sunday.    Some of the helpers have been actively involved for many years and their own children are now grown up!  We need more people who are in direct contact with the primary school.  There are fewer children attending the 10 am Mass now than there were a few years ago and it would be good to encourage more young families to come along. The parents benefit from having some peace and quiet during the Mass!

The programme followed by the children is a simplified version of the Liturgy of the Word for each Sunday and there is a wide range of activities led by the committed team.

ChoirOur choir numbers are dwindling and we need new members all the time.  If you attend the Sunday morning Mass and would like to join them please do, you will be made very welcome.
Fund Raising GroupThe group meets approximately once a month and new members and new ideas are always welcome.  Please see the weekly bulletin for the date of the next meeting.
Piety ShopOur Piety Shop team run a well-stocked Piety Shop which is open before and after Mass on Saturday evening and Sunday mornings.
Sacred Heart GuildThe Guild is known affectionately as the ‘Ladies Guild’ has been in existence for many decades and the current Chair Person Mrs. Mary Hardman is a second generation member of the Guild.
Senior Citizens GroupThe Senior Citizens meet for a ‘Get Together’ in the Parochial Centre every month.  They enjoy a game or two of Bingo which is followed by afternoon tea.   The annual Christmas Party takes place in early December and is enjoyed by all who attend.
